Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona)

Season 1 of Yona of the Dawn (YotD) has come and gone. It's a show with a lot of positives that's reminiscent of some older, long running, shows like Fushigi Yuugi. This first season really just sets the groundwork for the story. So, if it doesn't get a second season, this show will end up just being an entryway into the manga for viewers who want to complete the story. 3561

Edge of Tomorrow

Edge of Tomorrow is a  live action adaptation of the Japanese light novel All you need is Kill, by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. While the movie feigns no great fidelity to its source material, it does do a good job of incorporating the primary idea of the story into a fun summer action movie. As you may know by now, I don't like to take into account for source material when I talk about something. Instead, I like to evaluate how the product stands on its own. I believe that Edge of Tomorrow does stand up very well on it's own. It's an enjoyable film with a lot of action, humor and an interesting character development. The one place where it will be lacking for some people is in it's ending, but aside from that it's a really good film.  891
