Hamilton: An American Musical

boThe primary reason (read "excuse") for the trip to NYC was a happenstance purchasing of tickets to Hamilton: An American Musical. Despite living several hundred miles away, I have a set of friends that are big Broadway buffs. A few months before, they had convinced me to listen to the soundtrack. I listened to it on Spotify and, a couple of months after that, I was asked if I wanted to go see the play in January. I didn't think too much about it but, turns out, I ended up buying tickets to one of the hottest shows on Broadway. 6124

Birdman is definitely a ride, but I think that it's more of a ride for fans of film than for the average movie goer. Writer/Director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu constructs a movie that's constantly firing on different levels and gives the audience a lot to digest. 1641

Ambitious Newsies Medley One-Shot

The BYU acapella group "Vocal Point" performs this medley of songs from the Disney Broadway show and movie Newsies. If the singing wasn't hard enough the stage elaborate choreography using over 85 student performers from the university and then try to do everything in one shot.
